Gloucestershire were back on home soil for their latest National League Division 3 fixture but were beaten 21–15 by a strong Bedfordshire side, despite a number of positive performances across the weekend.

Saturday began with the Women’s B, who put in a solid shift to come away with a 3–3 draw. It was a steady contest throughout, with both sides having their moments. Suzie Slatter produced the standout performance for Gloucestershire, earning Lady of the Match with an impressive 20.49 average.

The Men’s B found things tougher going, with Bedfordshire pulling away to take a 9–3 win. Gloucestershire battled throughout but were unable to get a foothold in the match. Rich Bambridge was the standout performer, claiming Man of the Match honours with a strong 27.84 average.

Sunday started on a positive note for Gloucestershire with the Women’s A producing a good performance to secure a 4–2 win. It was a well-earned result against a competitive Bedfordshire side, with Tammy Jones leading the way and taking Lady of the Match after averaging 18.10.

Going into the Men’s A, Gloucestershire still had plenty to play for, but Bedfordshire once again proved difficult to contain, taking a 7–5 victory to wrap up the overall result. Matt Kerry was named Man of the Match for Gloucestershire, producing a strong display and averaging 27.97 in what was another competitive contest.

While the final score didn’t go Gloucestershire’s way, there were clear positives to take, particularly from the Women’s A victory and some strong individual displays across the weekend.

Gloucestershire now look ahead to their next National League Division 3 fixture, where they will take on Gwynedd away on April 25th–26th in what will be the penultimate game of the season.
