Dramatic End To The Season

With a magnificent 22-14 win over rivals Salopian promotion to the UKDA Darts Corner National League Division 2 is a real possibility now for Gloucestershire. Northumberland currently sitting in 3rd place 28 points behind Gloucestershire have a postponed fixture against Pembrokeshire which they are playing over the Easter weekend. Only when that fixture is complete can Gloucestershire be sure of popping the champagne corks but definitely worth getting it chilled in readiness.

Gloucestershire ladies B team meant business and got the weekend off to a cracking start with a 5-1 win. Last on Sharon McNulty gained another Lady of the Match award of the season with her 18.17 average. The Mens B continued the fight with an 8-4 result in their section. A fantastic performance from Mark Turley averaging 30.06 not only gained him the match award but also recognition as the highest Mens B average in Division 3.

On to the Sunday matches with a 13-5 lead, the Ladies A team held their own with a 3-3 draw. The ever reliable Carol Smith gained Lady of the Match averaging 16.21. Needing just 3 sets to secure the win, the Mens A did not disappoint and secured a 6-6 draw giving Glos the overall 22-14 score and those valuable bonus points. Last man standing, Terry Jenkins took the honours, averaging 29.04.
