Both A teams deliver decisive wins as Gloucestershire battle to a narrow overall triumph in National League Division 3 action.
Gloucestershire secured a hard-fought 19–17 victory over Wiltshire in National League Division 3 action, rounding off a tense weekend of darts that went right down to the wire.
The weekend began with the Women’s B side taking to the oche. Despite some solid performances, Wiltshire proved the stronger on the day, claiming a 4–2 win. Gloucestershire’s Sharon Brewer earned Lady of the Match honours with a 13.95 average.
The Men’s B team responded superbly, producing a determined display to record a 7–5 win and swing the overall match back in Gloucestershire’s favour. Andy Hammond led by example with a 25.01 average, earning Man of the Match.
In the Women’s A fixture, both teams battled fiercely in a close contest that ended 3–3. Gloucestershire’s Tammy Jones stood out as Lady of the Match with an 18.66 average.
That set up a decisive final day for the Men’s A, with the match finely balanced. Gloucestershire rose to the challenge once again, claiming another 7–5 victory to seal the overall win. Joe Quiney shone brightest with a 27.08 average, earning Man of the Match and helping guide the side over the finish line.
The result reflects a great team effort from across all sections, with every player contributing to what was a well-fought and spirited encounter. Securing the win right at the end showcased the resilience and determination that continue to define Gloucestershire darts.
Gloucestershire now look ahead to their next National League Division 3 fixture, away to the Isle of Wight on November 28–29, as they aim to build on this positive result.
